Virginia Kay Moore, affectionately known as Ginny Kay, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 at her home in Edmond. She was born November 18, 1960 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Harry Anthony and Catherine Scallon Moore. Ginny Kay grew up in Cushing, later moving to Oklahoma City, then to Edmond. She was a blessing and inspiration to everyone who knew her. Despite life-long health challenges, she was the personification of courage and fortitude. Giving up was never an option. Adversity made her fight with determination and a smile on her face. Her family felt honored to have been chosen to care for this angel on earth. May she now rest forever with God. Ginny Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Brad Moore and infant sister, Mary Teresa Moore. She is survived by sister, Michele Hughes and husband Jack of Edmond; brother, Pat Moore of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Deanie Moore of Tulsa; nephews, Mark Hughes of Edmond; Matt Moore of Houston, Texas; Scott Moore of Las Colinas, Texas and her beloved dog, Lucy. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ginny Kay's loyal caregiver, Jackie Davis; the Excell Home Health Team, the Humanity Hospice Team and Paula Avery for their care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend John Metzinger on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 9th and Boulevard, Edmond. Graveside service will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing at 2:30 p.m.
