Glenn Alan Trimble was born on September 12, 1924 and known to those whom he loved and the many who loved him, as "Dad", "Granddad" or "Coach", Glenn Alan Trimble joined his Creator and other members of his family when he died early Monday morning. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends who will remember him as lovingly interested in every person he met. Glenn had a way to make everyone he met feel significant, but nothing was more important to him than his family. He began his familial legacy on a hot August day in 1951, when he married Joanne Dotson in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Over the next 59 years they would build quite a life together. Glenn was always happiest when surrounded by his children and their families: their daughter Joanna Smith married to Michael and their children, Molly and Marty Chilcote, Rachel and Ryan; their daughter Nancy Carter (deceased) married to Bob and their children, Trent and Jennifer Carter, Anne and Katie; their son Don married to Mary Katherine and their children, Erin and Jonathan Hicks, Blake and Sarah Katherine; and their son Paul married to Salle and their children Emma, Francie, and David. A bright, talented and athletic young man, Glenn graduated from University of Pittsburgh in 1944 as a Petroleum Engineer and left his beloved city taking a job with a company that would eventually become Mobil Oil Company. That first job turned into a distinguished career that spanned 44 years with the same employer. Glenn was blessed with lots of friends and a beautiful voice that he loved to share whenever the spirit moved him whether he was remembering a catchy tune in his head or singing in one of the churches he loved to attend. We are confident that he is still doing the things he loved most – singing, rooting for any Pittsburgh sports team and being with family and friends. The Trimble family wants to especially thank their wonderful caregivers: Mila, Jessica, Arleeda and Natisha as well as their friends at What-A-Donut. A memorial service will be held at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland Ave., Wednesday at 11 a.m.
