A celebration service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Both events will be held at the Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Ave. Marvin was born August 18, 1926, in Jefferson, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Muriel, and his brother, Lee. Marvin grew up in Garber, Oklahoma and graduated from Garber High School in 1944. Marvin and Lee helped their dad with custom farming while growing up. Marvin served in the military in the Philippines and Japan. Upon return, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from OSU and earned his CPA in 1954. His business career began in public accounting with Williams, Hurst & Groth, which later merged with Arthur Young and Company. He joined Star Mfg. Co. as Chief Financial Officer. Star was later acquired by Woods Corporation, where he was Vice President and CFO. He then became a partner in WDS Inc., which acquired Woods Corporation in a private equity buyout. Marvin was a "numbers" man and loved the financial business. Believing that education was the key to opportunity, Marvin and his wife, Nelda, encouraged and financially supported all of their children and grandchildren in their college careers. Some of his proudest moments were the graduation ceremonies of the family. Marvin and Nelda have enjoyed taking their entire family on trips all over the world, creating cherished memories of time together. The family will greatly miss his unending patience, kindness, generosity, wit and undying love. Marvin's survivors include the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Nelda White Tebow; his daughter, Sharon Tebow Strickland, of Oklahoma City; her three sons: Dax Strickland and wife, Carrie, and their sons, Luke and Colin; Sean Strickland and wife, Leah, of Oklahoma City; Cole Strickland and wife, Lindsay, and their son, Everett, of Oklahoma City, and his other daughter, Vicki Piper and her husband, John Piper, of Houston, Texas; her three daughters: Morgan Piper of Oklahoma City; Teryn Piper of Norman, Oklahoma and Logan Piper of Norman, Oklahoma.
