Gloria Faye Bond McAnulty, daughter of Arthur Cranston and Veda Faye Warren Bond, was born May 10, 1934, at Cairo, Oklahoma. She passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015, after a long battle with breast and bone cancer. Gloria Faye attended Phillips and Bethel elementary schools, graduating from Coalgate High School in 1951. On October 28, 1952, she married Billy Jack McAnulty of Atoka, Oklahoma. To this union were born four children. In October, 2013, they celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary. For fifteen years Gloria Faye was a full-time wife and mother, moving multiple times when Jack was transferred to different worksites. In 1967, Jack changed careers and they moved to Oklahoma City where they purchased a coin-operated laundromat. Gloria Faye worked on the production line for Western Electric as a cable-former. After a layoff, she spent time at Fife Corporation before returning to Western Electric/Lucent where she remained until retiring. Gloria took cake decorating and ceramics classes. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends and sewing clothes for Jack and the children. She crocheted baby afghans for friends and family and dishcloths which she handed out freely to anyone who commented on them. She even tried her hand at sculpting a couple of pieces. Her niece called her a "connector". She loved talking to long lost friends, old school chums and neighbors next door (from all the towns she had lived in)! She had her own world-wide web she used to track down those with whom she and others had lost touch. Gloria Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack McAnulty, her parents, sister Roberta Maye Bond Garside, brothers Arthur Cranston Bond, Jr., Vernon Lee Bond and Danny Lavern Bond, and two grandchildren Jonathan and Stephanie McAnulty. She is survived by children Karen and Tom Elmore of Moore, Oklahoma, Arthur and Mary McAnulty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Thomas and Jennifer McAnulty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Sharon and Jon Baker of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Rebecca Goen of Jenks, Oklahoma, Sean and Sarah McAnulty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Erin and Glenn Elmore of Moore, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Brett Standlee and Brody Henderson of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister Debbie and Michael Elkins of Coalgate, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staffs of Brookdale at Quail Creek, Fidelis One Assisted Living Center and Mission Hospice, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for the loving care and affection that they gave Gloria Faye during the last months of her life. We believe the Lord sent you into our lives. Services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 2:00 pm, at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home, 1401 N.W. 23rd St. with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
