Gloria Kriegel passed away on June 7, 2012 at the age of 81. She was born Gloria Mae Jones on May 22, 1931 in Corinth, Mississippi, to Hubert and Emmogene (Crider) Jones. She graduated from Corinth High School and attended Judson College where she earned a B.A. degree. Gloria married Herbert G. Kriegel June 2, 1956, in Corinth. She is survived by husband, Herbert, sons, Jay (Julie) and David (Pam), five grandchildren, Jason, Jenna, Madeline, Max, and Eleanor, and four sisters, Emmogene Dunston (William), Jessie Gray, Beverly Jeter, and Charlotte Latch. She was preceded in death by two children, John and Kathryn, her parents, and sister, Christine Roe.
Gloria's many interests included her family and her church. Her time was much devoted to creating and enjoying loveliness around her. She greatly enjoyed painting with watercolors, crafts, playing the dulcimer, gardening, listening to music, decorating her home, and spending time in nature. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling to the British Isles, Spain, the Rhine River from Vienna to Amsterdam, Russia, New Zealand, and Mexico.
Gloria was an active member of both her church and community and always enjoyed being useful or tackling a project. She had an outgoing yet thoughtful nature and a loving heart which will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be 2 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11th at 10 a.m. at Quail Springs Methodist Church at 14617 N. Penn. Ave. in OKC, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
