Gregory Doyle Millwee, 58, of Edmond, OK passed away on Sunday Jan. 22, 2012 after a long battle with lymphoma. Greg's will to live was strong even though he had been at death's crossroad many times. The good news is he is with our Heavenly Father and is at peace. As he passed from this world he was surrounded by family and friends who were strengthened by his faith. We know Greg's life is changed, not ended.Greg was born to Doyle Eugene Millwee and Charlotte (Hargraves) Millwee in Oklahoma City on Dec. 10, 1953. Greg and his family moved to Enid, where he grew up and attended school. In his younger years he worked in the oil field business as a driller, off shore pressure testing and cement operator, and hot oiler. He went back to school and became a Paramedic. He worked in hyperbarics, wound care and emergency hazardous response prior to his retirement due to health issues. Greg was an avid fisherman, hunter and motorcyclist. He loved the outdoors. Prior to his illness he studied the Japanese martial art of Aikido. He was active in his church in Enid as a Care Minister and was a member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Greg is survived by his wife, Barbara (Fuller) Millwee, their daughter Sarah of the home; his son Steven of Oklahoma City and Steven's half-sister Kristi Booth of Kingfisher; his sister Susan Millwee of Denver; his mother Charlotte Millwee of Edmond; 3 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle and grandparents, Fred and Elizabeth Hargraves and Venable and Virginia Millwee. Greg Millwee lived life well; he loved large and cared deeply. If one was fortunate enough to have met him, they walked away a better person because of it. He truly was a blessing here on earth. An evening prayer service and celebration of life will be at 7 PM on Jan 24, 2012 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Jan 25, 2012 at St. Eugene Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery.
