Hal Halsell Adamson III

Hal Adamson III was born December 1, 1943 in Oklahoma City, and grew up in Edmond. He passed on with his family at his side June 27, 2024. He was a beloved and accomplished photographer and teacher of photography. He taught over 30,000 students in his career as an Artist in Residence at the Oklahoma School of Photography, OSSM, and Classen SAS. He loved music and had an extensive record collection. He was a fan of Oklahoma sports and enjoyed asking and pondering the deep questions of life. He was a kind man who accepted people as they are. He was preceded in death by his father, Hal Adamson Jr., his mother, Katherine Schmidt Adamson, and stepmother, Genevieve Wise Adamson. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Adamson; sisters, Lisa Adamson Lipscomb and husband, Tony, and Patricia Wise; sons, Hal and Brent Walton; Brian Adamson and partner Natalie Nickelson; brother-in-law, Bill Manera and wife Deb Anderson, five grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
