Harland Williams Gilmore, Jr., died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 28, 2017. Harland is survived by his wife of 18 years, Reta Weitzel Gilmore; his children, Andrea (Jon) Hibbs of Allen, Texas, Ty Harland Gilmore of Dallas, Texas, Natalie (David) Satarino of Austin, Texas, Sharon Millington of Edmond, William James Millington of Edmond; grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Hibbs; and sisters, Beverly Miller of Leesburg, Texas, and Marjorie (Paul) Giller of Denton, Texas. Harland was born in Lebanon, Tennessee on November 1, 1940 and spent his childhood in Dallas, Texas. He resided in Oklahoma for 39 years.
Harland attended The University of Texas at Arlington and enjoyed a successful professional career in commercial real estate, property management, and architecture.
Harland was preceded in death by his mother and father, Harland W. Gilmore, Sr. and Alice Fletcher Gilmore.
A memorial service will be held at Quail Springs United Methodist Church, Oklahoma City, on April 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation in his memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association: lbda.org.
