Harold "Skip" Everett Hayes, 78, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in his home on April 20, 2022. He was born in Comanche, Oklahoma on December 23, 1943, to Harold and Erna Hayes. In 1963, he enlisted into the United States Army, serving multiple tours to Vietnam with the Army Security Agency. In 1967, Skip met and fell in love with Sandra Hallford; they married in July of 1968. They were blessed with 1 daughter and 2 sons. He graduated from Central State College with a Bachelor's in Public Administration. He enjoyed many years working for the State of Oklahoma as a Financial Analyst. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and Edmond Soccer Club as a board member, he was a prolific reader, enjoyed shooting guns and researching his family history.He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. and Erna L. Hayes; three brothers, James, Jeffrey, and Steven.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Hayes; daughter, Erica Hannah, her husband Harold Hannah, their daughters, Allie and Adelynn; son, Barry Hayes, his wife Jennifer Hayes, their children Isabel and Sutton; son, Kyle Hayes, his wife Sarah Hayes, and their children Mason, Tyson, and Gabrielle; brother, William Hayes and wife, Juanita Hayes; also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home from 9:00am-6:00pm with family present from 4:00pm-6:00pm.Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 1:00pm at Smith Kernke North May Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery at 500 SW 104th Street, Oklahoma City, OK.The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
