On 7/18/10, Helen Tucker McGraw passed away at her home from complications following a stroke. Helen was born 5/18/15 in OKC, the second child of Wm. L. and Barbara Keinz Tucker. She was a resident student and 1932 graduate of Mt. St. Mary's Academy, then a boarding school for girls. She continued her education at Oklahoma City University as music major. An accomplished violinist, pianist, and trained vocalist, she performed in the symphony orchestra and, with her sister Barbara, on a weekly local radio program. In 1941, Helen married Bob McGraw. The two shared a passion for beautiful music and ballroom dancing. Their children were frequently rewarded with bedtime concerts, he playing the organ, she the violin or piano. After her children were grown, Helen took a job with the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Retirement years were spent spoiling grandchildren, traveling, gardening, and learning to paint. Her children have many treasured oil and watercolor paintings on their walls. Helen loved to travel, especially her semi-annual trips to NYC where she insisted on eating at her favorite restaurant, The Tavern on the Green. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 1989, her parents, her brother Bill and sister Barbara. She is survived by her brother John Tucker; her three children Lisa Kopper, Carolyn Andreas and John McGraw; her grandchildren Debi Kopper, Dan Kopper, Jerome Andreas, and Amanda Frisby; her great-grandchildren Julia and Jay Giachello, and Jonah, Cash and Fletcher Frisby. The family sends a special thank you to the employees of Heartland Hospice Care for their extraordinary expertise and the unfailing care and comfort given to all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
