Helen June (Faulkner) James

Helen June (Faulkner) James was born to Earl Lee Faulkner and Anna Fayrene (Irwin) Faulkner in Rush Springs, OK on June 12, 1933 and passed from this life on December 20, 2017 from natural causes. She graduated high school in Rush Springs, OK in 1951. She married Grant James August 6, 1951. Helen worked outside the home all of her adult life except for periods of time after her children were born. She retired from C.L. Frates & Co. Her retirement years were spent volunteering at Deaconess Hospital, working at countless hunting, fishing, and craft shows along with Grant in the Oklahoma City and Dallas areas and carrying on her long tradition of creating Christmas stockings for her family by keeping up with her ever growing list of great - grandchildren. Her husband Grant, her parents, 1 sister, Marilyn McAfee and 1 brother, Larry Faulkner preceded her in death. She was a loving wife to Grant for 56 years, honored Mother to two sons, Michael and wife Grace James, Charles James; proud Granny to 4 grandchildren, Joshua James, Jacqueline Wicker & husband David, Olivia Scott, Lindsay Thanscheidt and husband Richard and Beloved "Granny" to 5 great-grandsons, Kaden James, Grant Wicker, Colton and Charlie Thanscheidt and Elijah James and 4 great- grand daughters, Grace and Kahlan Wicker, Madelyn James, and Caroline Thanscheidt, all of whom were the lights of her life. She is survived by 2 sisters, Anita Worden and husband Don, Kay Smith and husband Kirby and brother in-law Ron McAfee husband of Marilyn. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. At Helen's request, there will be no services. There will be a Celebration of Life and visitation with refreshments on Thursday afternoon 12/28/17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Smith & Kernke funeral home, 14624 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Sharing Tree (formerly known as The Christmas Connection) or The American Heart Association.
