Helen B. Zanghi passed away in Oklahoma City. She was born in Midland, TX, the daughter of James Debs and Bertha Allen Meadows. She grew up in Midland, prior to moving to Guthrie, OK, where she graduated from Benedictine Catholic High School. She was working as a waitress in Las Cruces, N.M. when she met Samuel Phillip Zanghi. They later moved to New York where they lived in many different cities. After Samuel's death in 1985, Helen moved to Stroud where she worked as a part-time hostess at McDonald's and later Wendy's. She moved to Edmond in 2005 to live with her daughter. Helen enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, sewing and baking, especially her famous chocolate cake. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Stroud and Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Chandler. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Herlihy (James); grandson, Christopher; brother, Richard Darrell Meadows (Mary Jane Rangel Meadows); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, James D. Meadows, and sister, Mary Margaret Carter. Friends may pay their respect at the funeral home from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 9th & Boulevard in Edmond.
