Herbert William Collier passed away Feb. 15, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 30, 1926 in Okmulgee, OK. He grew up in Tulsa and served in US Navy from 1945-1947. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Tulsa and attended the University of Tulsa prior to transferring to the University of Oklahoma. Herbert earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from OU in 1951. He worked as an Independent Oil and Gas Lease Broker from 1951 to 1991 and then as an Independent Oilman from 1991 to 2014. Herbert was a Christian and attended Crossings Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sully and Mollie and two sisters, Joyce and Ann. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three children, John of Cathlamet, WA, Chet of Oklahoma City; and Annie of Grove, OK; one sister, Rosalie; seven grandchildren, Lauren of Omaha, NE, Ryle of Bremerton, WA, Sheridan of Moore, OK, Lianne of Woodbridge, VA, Karee of Santa Monica, CA, Clark of OKC, and Elyse of Boston, MA; three great grandchildren, Taylor of Moore, Charles of Omaha, NE, and Roman of Woodbridge, VA; and many nieces, nephews and extended relatives. Contributions in Herbert's memory may be made to Crossings Community Church or University of Oklahoma, School of Law. Services to celebrate Herbert's life will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland, Oklahoma City.
