Hilda Rae "Sarge" Rohrbaugh was born on April 10, 1921 in Clay County, TN to Charles Ray and Margaret Frances Stockton. She died on Aug. 5, 2010 in Oklahoma City. Hilda was a sergeant in the Women's Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. She was one of the first to join WAC to allow the service men to go overseas. Hilda moved to Oklahoma City in 1966 and attended Blackwood Business School. She worked at the State Republican headquarters and for John Taylor Oil Co. for several years. She started work as a deputy clerk at the county courthouse at age 65 and retired at age 85. Hilda enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank; twin siblings, Mary and William; sister Winona and son John. Hilda is survived by her sister Gemela Farver of Dibble, OK; daughter Ellen Baker and husband Luther of OKC and son Charles Rohrbaugh of Kankakee, IL; grandsons Shawn and Frank Rohrbaugh; and great-grandsons Chase and Vance.
