Icelone "Sally" Boaz was born in Perkins, Oklahoma to Clarence and Edith Hunnicutt. She was the second of their five children. Icelone married the love of her life, Wendell Boaz on Oct. 13, 1943, right before he joined the Army and their love continued for 66 years until his death in 2010.Icelone helped establish the family business in 1947, and worked alongside Wendell and his father until 1965, when she became a full-time homemaker and volunteer extraordinaire. As a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City, Icelone held almost every office in the Women of the Church organization and was honored with the Life Membership award in 2008. She also taught many Sunday School classes and helped lead many Vacation Church Schools. She helped the church start a Mobile Meals program, planning menus and purchasing food for a number of years. She has been responsible for countless receptions for weddings, funerals and other special events. She also coordinated the flowers calendar for many years. In addition to her service to the Church, Icelone was a volunteer at Baptist (now Integris) Hospital for over 30 years. She received the Lifetime Member Award in 2005. Icelone was a wonderful wife, an outstanding mother and grandmother, a great friend, a caregiver to all and an ardent OSU and Thunder fan. Her sense of humor and quick wit are well known and appreciated by all who know her. Icelone was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; Janice, Loren, Paul, and Dick. She is survived by; daughter Vikki and her partner, Deb Bunting; son Dale and wife Kathy, grandson; Jeremiah with Susan Urban; and granddaughter Justine Boaz Fresonke and husband Michael Fresonke with daughters Emma and Madeline; and a host of friends and family. Visitation will be held from 2p.m. to 5p.m. Friday, January 3, at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 4th at Central Presbyterian Church. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to Central Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
