Imogene Sokolosky Brewer

Imogene Sokolosky Brewer, 95, passed away on February 9th, 2011 at Logan Medical Center, Guthrie, OK. In recent months, she was a resident of Colonial Estates in Guthrie. Born in Oklahoma City to Harmon & Gertrude Koelsch, she graduated from St. Joseph's High School which was located in downtown Oklahoma City. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Raymond, Wayne, Marguerite, Dorothy and Virginia, her grandson, Steve, and her son-in-law, Charles. She was married to Joe Sokolosky, the father of her four children, and following his death to Hollis Brewer, who also preceded her in death. Imogene was a retiree of Liberty National Bank and was active in St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the Gatewood Neighborhood Association, Catholic Daughters of America and the OCU Alpha Chi Omega Mothers Club where she served two years as president. She always opened her home to dinners, celebrations, and gatherings and loved being surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Jerry Sokolosky, OKC, Ed Sokolosky, Harlingen, TX, Carol McCamey, Debbie Fleming & son-in-law, Paul Fleming, all of Edmond. Also, two granddaughters and their husbands, Cindy & Ray Gaytan, Encino, CA and Cheryl & David Woodcock, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico along with five great grand children, Callie, Alexandra and Mackenzie Gaytan and Skyler and John David Woodcock. The family would like to thank her dear friend, David Toothman, home caregiver, Loyce Dean, the kind and caring staff of Colonial Estates and her friend and fellow resident, Doris Sullivan, for making her last months as pleasant as possible.
