Irma E. Hall went to live with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she believed in & trusted throughout her life. In daily life her faith was evident by her humility, kindness and love. She was born on April 18, 1932 to her parents Herman and Emma Doner, of Decatur, Illinois.
Her elementary years were spent in St. John's Lutheran School of Decatur, Illinois. In 1950 she graduated from Decatur High School with honors. Then she attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.
In 1951 she was engaged to the Lutheran Seminary student, the Rev. Lester L. Hall of Mequon, Wisconsin. In 1952 they were married. In 1953 and 1957 she joined her husband in the ministries of two churches: Irving, Texas for four years, and in Oklahoma City at Immanuel Lutheran Church until retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Irvin Doner of Joplin, Missouri and beloved husband Lester Hall, and brother-in-Law Gene Hall.
She is missed dearly by her surviving family, her devoted daughters Linda Hall (of Oklahoma City), and Janet Winek, her Son-in-law Dr. David Winek, and grandchildren Dr. Jessica Schultz (Dr. Matt Schultz) and Michael Winek (Lauren Barth), and great grandchildren Anna Schultz and Henry Shultz, sister-in-law, June Hall, sister-in-Law Diane Doner, and 8 wonderful nieces and nephews.
She is survived by many close and long-time friends in her congregation and the community. Irma wanted a note of special appreciation to be given to all the caregivers who gave loving care to her in her home during her long illness.
Although family is often overlooked when appreciation is given, Irma was aware and thankful for the many sacrifices her daughter Linda made to help care for her and Lester in their later years.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 5-7pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1800 NW 36th Street, Oklahoma City. A Celebration of her life will be Saturday, April 1st at 2:00p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
