Jack G. Summers

Jack G. Summers was born in Oklahoma City the son of Jack and Louise Summers. He graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. Jack was an avid golfer. He was featured in Golf Digest while in high school for a hole in one on a par four at Lincoln Park West. He served as assistant golf pro at the Club at Indian Springs in Broken Arrow. He later returned to Oklahoma City where he worked at Lincoln Park golf course. Jack played in the Heartland Senior Tour. He had an enormous personality. He never met a stranger and could engage conversation with anyone. He had numerous friends, many since grade school. Jack was a die-hard OU fan. He also loved the NY Yankees and OKC Blazers. He loved his pets and was often trying to bring home another stray. Jack passed away on Sept. 26 in Oklahoma City with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his dad, Jack Summers Sr., and an infant son, Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife, Shelly; his mother, Louise Summers; son, Jay Thomas; two sisters, Rosemarie Schmid and husband Karl, and Laura Jane Ward and husband Tony. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the OK Heart Hospital for their exceptional care. A celebration service will be held Thursday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at Smith and Kernke May Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the OK Humane Society or any animal rescue organization.
