Jack Henry Perry was born Aug. 15, 1924 in Paoli, OK to Joseph & Alpha Perry and passed away Feb. 6, 2011 after a short illness. He was the youngest of 10 children & was drafted into the US Army after graduating from Paoli HS in 1943. He became a Glider soldier in WWII, making 2 landings behind the lines, one in the battle of La Muy, France & one across the Rhine when the Germans were making their last effort to conquer the world. Upon his return home he started a 40-year career with SW Bell, retiring in 1986. Jack married Johnnie Ruth James Nov. 15, 1946 and they had an amazing marriage. Perry Air Conditioning was a side business in the summers for Jack; he could repair & fix almost anything. Wesley United Methodist Church member for almost 60 years, he served on the property committee & was a fix-it man around the church. He also volunteered with the Mobile Meals program. He loved mowing his yard with his riding mower & every year he & Johnnie planted a garden and had great beautiful tomatoes, peppers & okra. An adventurer, he enjoyed traveling, making many foreign trips, including 4 mission trips, as well as seeing most of the US. One of his favorite outings was an annual trip to Idaho to snowmobile with his nephew & friends. He enjoyed volunteering at Integris Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Wesley UMC Mobile Meals Program. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Ruth; children, Nancy & Don; son-in-law, George; grandchildren, Hilary, John & Michelle; brother Joe Perry numerous loving nieces & nephews.
