James Byron (Jim) Cupit

Jim was born in Topeka, KS to Annabelle Marie Whitney Cupit and James Cupit, Jr. Jim's father's Air Force career led the family to live in Kansas, Tennessee, Oregon and southern California, where Jim graduated Victorville High School in 1969. He attended the University of California San Bernadino and moved to Oklahoma City in the late 1970's to begin his career in the oil business. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lee. Jim married Lyn Bryzcki and they raised two wonderful sons, James Norbert Cupit (New Orleans) and Geoffrey Donald Lee Cupit (Yukon). At the time of his death, Jim worked as purchasing manager for Hagar Restaurant Sales, helping the company grow during his twenty years there. Jim's family grew when Kindra Dotson became like a daughter and her son, Jaxon, became Jim's beloved grandson. Jim and Pamela Cross met in 2012 and married June 14, 2014, giving Jim another son, Aaron Cross, more daughters, Erica and Crystal Clements, and granddaughter Mara Cross. Jim was exceptionally proud of his family. To meet Jim was to meet a person of great integrity. Jim was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Smith & Kernke 23rd Street Chapel.
