James Charles 'James C. Hamilton' Hamilton, Jr.

James C. Hamilton died January 16, 2012, after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 22, 1954, in Seminole, OK, the son of James Sr. and Madeline Hamilton. Much of his time growing up, was spent in the oil fields with his dad. He came to Oklahoma City with his family at the age of 12. He took his first job at Coit's Drive-In at age 13 and then went to work at Comet Skating Rink, where he learned speed-skating. He also loved bowling, was on a junior bowling league, and continued to bowl until he was too ill to do so. Jim thoroughly enjoyed coaching his son's little league baseball teams for several years. He returned to the oil fields and worked while in his 20's and later operated his own delivery service. He later worked at various jobs. He was an avid OSU fan. He is survived by his sister, Elaine Parker and her husband Frank; two sons, Nick Hamilton and his wife Jamie of Ft. Bragg, NC, and Nathan Hamilton of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Elijah and Kylee; niece, Nina Abbey and her son, Alex; and his favorite dog, Smokey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marianne. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Smith & Kernke 23rd Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10605.
