James E. Wood

Jim Wood, longtime resident of Oklahoma City, passed away at Epworth Villa on July 3, 2015. He was born July 1, 1925 in Ft. Towson, OK. He grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from OCU. Jim served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked as a sales executive for Hoover Equipment, Boecking Machinery and later for Kirby Smith Machinery prior to retiring. His interests were traveling, going to Grand Lake and flying. He was preceded in death by his wife Evie. He is survived by his sister, Inez Lorant of Shreveport, LA, and many nieces and nephews including Dan Lorant of Oklahoma City and Jerry and Connie Lorant and Fran and Bobby Moore all of Shreveport. The family will receive friends at the Smith & Kernke on N. May from 4pm – 6pm Monday, July 6. Graveside service will be 10am Tuesday at Resthaven Memory Gardens, SW 104th & Western, Oklahoma City.
