James "Jim" Fredrick Hasenbeck, of Oklahoma City, passed away on February 25, 2016 surrounded by family, at the age of 81. Jim was born May 25, 1934 to Henry and Etta Hasenbeck in a farm house located between Fletcher and Elgin, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of three sons, and was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, and brothers Bill and Charlie. He is survived by his wife, KC; son, Jim; daughter, Ki Lynn; son, Jay; and grandchildren; Taylor, Spencer, Blair, Alex, Claire, and Joshua.
Jim graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1956 from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Soils. He was a member of several Honor Societies, selected as 'Top Ten Freshman', and awarded the most Outstanding Agronomy Student in 1956. After graduating from OSU, Jim spent many years in the insurance industry serving as President of Casualty Corporation, and Vice President of Mark Twain Life. He also had interest in the oil and gas industry. Jim was one of the original founders of the OSU Posse Club serving as President in the early 1960's. He lovingly enjoyed family, playing golf, and OSU sporting events.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on March 1, 2016 at the Smith and Kernke Chapel 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery 13313 N Kelly Ave., Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSU Foundation College of Agriculture Student Scholarship Fund.
