Jim was born in Oklahoma City to Dolores McGinley and James McGinley and he was one of nine children. He was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma in 1976 and went on to receive his Masters from the University of Central Oklahoma. Jim was a teacher for nine years. During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Debbie McGinley. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Jimmy, Jeremy, and Marissa. Jim went on to work for the USPS for thirty-one years and had recently retired. Jim was a faithful Catholic and had been a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church for thirty years. He was a loving family man who dedicated his life to his family. He was always very protective of his family and helped out whenever needed. His legacy will live on, as his love will forever be in our hearts. He proudly coached and attended all of his children's sports and school events. He was their biggest fan and greatest blessing. He also spent hours of his free time coaching many other children and impacting their lives. Jim was also an avid sports fan. He loved the Oklahoma Sooners, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Washington Redskins, and the Boston Red Sox. He never missed a game! Jim loved playing golf with his best buddies and enjoyed making some friendly bets. Jim is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Debbie; two sons, James McGinley III, wife Jordan, and Jeremy McGinley; daughter Marissa McGinley; and grandson Colin McGinley; brothers, Mike McGinley, Paul McGinley, and John McGinley and wife Susan; sisters, Marie Migausky and husband Steve, Janie DeGiusti and husband Anthony, Susie Smith and husband Steve, and Ginny Webster and husband John. Jim is preceded in death by his mother Dolores McGinley-Miller, father James McGinley and brother Gerald McGinley. A prayer service will be held Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke on North May. A Christian Burial Mass will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Our family was truly blessed to have such a wonderful father, husband, Grandad, and friend. Jim will live on in all of our hearts forever. Love You Always and Forever.
