Jane Harmon Rogers Meeks

Our beloved Jane was born in the small, but industrious city of DeKalb, Texas, to James and Bunice Harmon. She passed from this life and returned to her Creator on August 16, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Jane was employed in federal civil service for 30 years. She served 20 years at Tinker AFB as a Logistics Specialist and later served in the same capacity at Los Angeles AFB in California, before retiring as a Test Engineer for a DOD contractor. It was there, in California, where she met her beloved husband, Coy A. Meeks, Jr, with whom Jane shared many happy, enjoyable years. Jane loved people and leaves behind happy memories of her laughter, thoughtfulness, and kindness. Jane and her daughter, Kristin, spent a lifetime building love while shopping, watching movies, loving animals, and sharing a love of books. Jane loved brilliantly colored art, her large family, crafting, singing in the church choir, and dachshunds. She and Coy drove and rode many happy miles throughout the USA with their dear H.O.G friends. The joy, happiness, and fellowship with those she leaves behind will always be remembered. Jane leaves behind her husband, Coy, daughter Kristin Rogers, her two loving sisters, Ellen Harmon of Chicago and Rachel Hillmer of Nixa, MO, and daughters Karen, Robin, and Tracey Meeks. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City on Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. Jane will be interred at Arlington Memory Gardens near her parents. Viewing will be Aug. 20 from 12-4 at Smith & Kernke on NW 23rd. Donations in her memory can be made to the Legacy of Care fund at First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City.
