Jane Marilyn Martin

Jane Marilyn Martin, 76, passed from this life on 3/17/12 to join her parents, Leonard and Ella Mueller in Heaven. Jane is also being reunited with her sister, Susan Carpenter and her beloved Shitzu, Bogie. Jane was born in Cleveland, OK on 9/6/35. She attended CHS, graduating Valedictorian in 1953. She attended one year at OSU before marrying Jimmie Dale "Pete" Martin in 1955. Jane worked as a secretary for many years between raising 3 children while she and Pete traveled with his military career in the USAF. Jane loved the travel involved with being a military wife. While living in Maryland, Jane was able to complete her college degree at the U of MD, where she graduated Cum Laude and earned her teaching certificate. Their travels brought them back to OK and Jane worked at Founders Tower as an Executive Secretary before teaching at Classen HS. They eventually moved back to Cleveland where Jane also taught business classes until she retired and she and Pete moved to OKC to be closer to their grandchildren. Jane was full of life, a voracious reader and an avid OSU and Thunder fan, never missing a game on tv. Jane is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jimmie D. Martin; son, Curtis Martin and wife, Janice and their children, Tommy and Eric of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Jennifer Henry and husband, James and their children, Jared, Roxanne and Sam of OKC; and son, Joel Martin of Panama City, FL; Jane is also survived by her beloved toy poodle, CoCo. The family will greet visitors from 4-6pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, OK.
