Janet Kay Blankenship passed away peacefully in her Oklahoma City home with family on January 3, 2025. Born in Ada, Oklahoma January 20, 1942. She was preceded in death by her older brother Ron Baber, parents Guy and Thelma Baber. She is survived by nephews Mark, Michael, Gary, Terry, Gene, niece Rhonda and their spouses. Numerous great nieces and nephews. Janet was an avid athlete. She was the president of OKC ski club, Olympic caliber skier, scuba diving was her passion diving in numerous oceans with the Indian Ocean being her favorite. A true advocate for all animals was shown in her efforts to rescue cats and raise butterflies. Janet was an accomplished pianist. She loved playing cards with her friends. She started the Tulsa Stained glass Studio and created beautiful and unique pieces. A talented baker leaving her legendary pull apart bread for family each Christmas. Janet lived a life of fulfillment and adventure. She has and will continue to inspire us with her love and remarkable life led.
Services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2 pm at the Vintage Gardens III Clubhouse,16116 Napa Ridge in Edmond.
