Janice Kaye Duncanson died peacefully at her home in Oklahoma City on July 3, 2010 after a long illness of multiple sclerosis. Born in Oklahoma City on May 5, 1941 to Ray V. and Ruthene B. Son, both of whom preceded her in death. Jan was raised in OKC, graduated in 1959 from Classen High School, and attended Central State University. Her talents were many and her career included real estate, building management, student recruitment at the OU College of Dentistry, and positions as legal and church secretaries. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dr. Manville G. Duncanson, Jr., her three children, Stephanie Melton of Bridge Creek, OK, Todd C. J. Gers of Deer Park, Victoria, Australia, Robin R. Gibson of Newcastle, OK, and a stepson Terrence M. Duncanson of Dallas, TX; sister, Barbara R. Thomas, and brother, James V. Son of OKC, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister Carolyn R. Gers of OKC. Over the years, Jan was an active member at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church where she was a member of choir, worked with the mobile meals program, and served as vestry secretary among other activities. Jan's themes of life were love and service. She was loved by her family and brought joy, humor and contentment to them. She will be greatly missed.
