Jean Simms Chandler dies peacefully after a short illness on January 23, 2015. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. She was a classy woman who was affirming and accepting of all.
Jean was born in New York City on May 5, 1920 to Carlos Ince and Margot Millar. She attended Classen High School and married James K. Simms on July 3, 1940. What a beautiful marriage it was. They celebrated every anniversary in Santa Fe, New Mexico. To their union were born five children Mary, Karen, Jim, Mike, and Meg.
Jean was a wonderful homemaker, tireless servant and a devoted mother, wife, and catholic. Her faith was central to her life. She married H.D. Chandler on April 12th, 2002 and another happy union was born. She was a member of the Marcelline club, Bridge club, Dig and Hope garden Club, and a founding member of the "Harem social group".
She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters Mary Simms and Karen Simms Ross. She is survived by son Jim and wife Jackie Simms, Mike Simms, Meg Simms Corn, seven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at 4pm Tuesday, January 27, at Christ the King Catholic Church. 8005 Dorset, Nichols Hills, OK.
