Jeanette Dean Evenson

Surrounded by her family, Jeanette went peacefully to be with the Lord. She was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to the late Floyd Seymour Dean and Marguerite Fox Dean. She was preceded in death by her brother John Seymour Dean of Fargo, North Dakota and is survived by her sister Doris Dean Martin of Bismark, North Dakota. Jeanette grew up on a farm near Hatton, North Dakota. She graduated from North Dakota State University School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse and began her career in public health in Fargo, North Dakota. Jeanette met and married her husband of 61 years, Milton R. (Mick) Evenson at North Dakota State University. She was an incredible, supportive parent, adoring mother, amazing grandmother, loyal, and kind friend. She treasured her family above all else. She was always there with unconditional love. Jeanette was an incredible cook and homemaker. She loved her time spent with her Friday night group. She is survived by her husband and four children, Mary Kay Samis and husband Bobby, Jane Christiansen, Tom Evenson and wife Jennifer, Ann Tubbs and husband Tommy and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Meagan and Robert Samis, Matt and Dan Christiansen, Andi and Charlie Evenson, Hannah and Katie Tubbs and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 30th, 2015 at 10am at Christ The King Catholic Church 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73120. Jeanette had a special place in her heart for the Oklahoma Diabetes Association. The family suggests memorials be made to The Oklahoma Diabetes Center, 1000 North Lincoln Blvd, #190 Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
