Jeanie Ruedy

Jeanie Ruedy 's life began in Oklahoma City on New Years day, 1933, and ended peacefully in the same city on December 12, 2017. Educated at Central High and Pittsburg University, Jeannie was a businesswoman who owned a commercial art/advertising studio in Oklahoma City for most of her adult life. Her two great passions were the Oklahoma City Advertising Club, of which she was the first woman president and an active member for 54 years, and the Cleveland Neighborhood, where she was a lifelong resident—and much more. Widely recognized as a trailblazer for women in her industry, Jeanie was recently elected Governor of the 10th District of the America Advertising Federation. She also served the Cleveland Neighborhood in several executive capacities (President, Vice President, and Board member), and brought many noteworthy improvements to the lives of its residents. Jeanie worked hard, loved people, and served with joy as well as dedication. She maintained long term, affectionate connections with numerous friends, associates, as well as the members of her "farm family," her "Lake Hiwassee family," and her "Cleveland family." She will be lovingly remembered and missed by them all. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Friday, December 15th at the funeral home. Services will be held 10am, Saturday December 16th at Smith & Kernke 23rd Street Chapel (1401 NW 23rd St.) with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
