Jennifer Lee Thompson was born in Oklahoma City. She attended Casady School from preschool through high school, graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University in 1997 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2000. After receiving her law degree, Jennifer began to practice law in OKC and she soon limited her practice to family law. In 2001, Jennifer became an associate with Horning, Grove, Hulett, Thompson and Comstock. Later, she and her mother, Carolyn S. Thompson, formed Thompson Law Firm. Jennifer was active in the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma County Bar Association. In 2010, soon after Jennifer was diagnosed with cancer, she married the love of her life, John W. Ross, Jr. They had a happy home together with their many beloved dogs. Jennifer maintained an amazingly positive attitude as she battled a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. Jennifer is survived by her husband; mother and step-father, Robert Spector; uncle, Ryce Stallings; aunts, Sara Blanche, Marjorie Chambers and Laura Thompson; cousins, Giovanna, Steven and Nicole Stallings and Greg and Steve Chambers; she also loved by many cousins in Italy. In lieu of flowers, Jennifer asked that donations be made to the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. A Celebration of Jennifer's life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Smith & Kernke Chapel.
