Jerry Bass Jennings died at home on May 18, 2020 in Oklahoma City, blessed by only a few short days of illness. She was born February 18, 1928 in Enid, Oklahoma to Henry and Bertie Bass. After a year at Hollins College in Roanoke, VA she matriculated to the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1949. Jerry loved her days being a Pi Beta Phi, majoring in Spanish and making lifelong friends. Shortly after graduation she became an American Airline stewardess living all kinds of adventure before marrying Bill P. "Beep" Jennings…the greatest and most loving adventure of her life. Their marriage of 54 years was blessed with 5 daughters, travels, trials and sharing the dearest of times with friends. Jerry loved her church, her community, her gardens, her books, all things French, golf, Thunder basketball and most dearly her family. She left them a legacy of beautiful grace that projected from within her to all those she touched.She was preceded in death by her parents, cherished sister Barbara Berry and brother Bob; and her husband Beep Jennings. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Susan Robertson (Mark), Karen Tidholm, Christy Gober (Dale), Marty Smith (Hoffie) and Libby Manning (Isaac); her four granddaughters, Elaine Mitchell (Matthew), Emily Hays, Julie Tidholm and Lucy Robertson and seven grandsons, Jacob Robertson (Ande), Matthew Robertson, David Robertson, Isaac Manning (Ashley), Henry Manning, Heyward Manning and Coles Manning; and her 4 great grandchildren, Charlotte Mitchell, Samantha and Natalie Hays and Moss Robertson. A family burial will be conducted in Ardmore this Friday, May 22. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Nichols Hills.
