Jill Wood Stallwitz was born September 28, 1934 in OKC. She died on December 27, 2010. Jill was a graduate from East High in Wichita, KS and later attended Wichita State University. She was recognized for her feature stories while serving as Lifestyle Writer for the Wichita Eagle. After her professional career, she became a loving wife and homemaker for many years. Kids of all ages loved "Granny." She had a natural kinship with children; she tutored 3rd graders at Windsor Hills for many years. Jill loved the red dirt and heritage of Oklahoma. She was an avid OU Sooner fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Stallwitz, in 2000. Her survivors include her son, Stephen Stallwitz of Manhattan, KS; daughters: Jayne Shope and Julia King, both of OKC; grandsons: Aaron Shope, Cale Powers; granddaughters: Kim Swanson and Tory King ; and 4 great-grandchildren.
