Jimi was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on March 28, 1955. She grew up there with her younger siblings—Debbie, Robert and Angel. The family moved to Oklahoma City before high school where Jimi stayed until retirement when she moved to Stillwater with her husband, Ken Davidson. Jimi had a brilliant mind, a witty sense of humor and anyone who knew her would tell you she was a joy to be around. Her ability to make others laugh and feel at ease endeared her to people of all ages, from her peers to her nieces and nephews to her daughters’ friends, who all found her warmth and charm irresistible.
Professionally, Jimi was known for her exceptional reputation and commitment to her work. Her detailed analytical skills were matched only by her generous spirit; she was a selfless giver who often contributed to those in need anonymously, never seeking recognition for her kindness. There was no task that Jimi couldn’t do, and if she wasn’t sure, she knew someone who was. Jimi had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special, fostering connections and leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Jimi was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a caring sister, and a cherished friend. She was the anchor of her family, providing unwavering support and love. Her legacy is one of compassion, integrity, and love. Jimi’s radiant spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jimi was preceded in death by her parents: Hassie and Ervin Wood, and her sister: Angel Johnson. Jimi is survived by her husband, Ken Davidson, her three daughters: Sara Clark and her husband, LJ Clark; Tara Long and her husband, David Long; and Holly Kuster and her husband, Aaron Kuster, her grandchildren: Colton and Jazlyn Clark; Davis and Sawyer Long; Adeline, Rosalynn, John, and James Kuster, her siblings: Debbie Avance, Robert Bruner and his wife, Kathy Bruner, along with her beloved nieces and nephews and numerous lifelong friends.
A celebration of Jimi's life will be held on Wednesday October 16th at Skyline OKC located at 1901 N. Douglas Ave. in Oklahoma City at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, Inc., reflecting Jimi’s generous heart.
Rest in peace, sweet Jimi. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
