Beverly Jo Jackson was born January 16, 1933, in Fairview, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Floyd and Velma Brown, of Enid, Oklahoma. Her grandparents were Evan and Maude Brown and William and Zelliah Jordan; both of which settled on farms in the opening Cherokee Strip, close to Goltry, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cushing High School and Cottey College. Jo was a Scout Leader, P.T.A. Member, Member of the Baptist Church, Served on the Marshalltown, Iowa Board of Adjustment, Iowa Commission on the Status of Women, Iowa Campaign Disclosure Commission, Jr. Women's Club in San Diego, California, Marshalltown, Iowa Republican Central Committee, Vice President Republican Women, Iowa Third District, Centerville, Iowa Economic Development Committee, Lake Rathbun, Iowa, Iowa Governor Branstad County Chair, H.U.D., Beta Sigma Phi and P.E.O., L.T. of Marshalltown, Iowa and P.E.O Chapter E.S. of Edmond, Ok. She was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and owned and managed Southfork Marina and Re-Resort with her partner, Mickey Rooney. Jo, as she was known by her friends, married Roy W. Jackson, Jr. in 1953. Their Children are Kurt and Meri Jackson of Newton, Iowa, Roy W. Jackson of Portland, Oregon, and Julianne Jackson Kisselburgh of Rock Wall, Texas. They have five grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley and Cody Kisselburgh, Amanda and Sarah Jackson, and one great-granddaughter, Tatum Keen.Due to the pandemic, private family graveside services will be held.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Jo Jackson be sent to P.E.O.
