Joan Beard

Joan Huey Beard of Oklahoma City passed into Heavenly care on March 16, 2010. Born on July 11, 1937 in Batesville, Mississippi, Joan was the only child of Lawrence G. and F. Esther (Johnson) Huey. She lived her early school years into high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She married Eldon R. Beard on October 8, 1960 at her parents' home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Paula, Vickie, and John. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her son, John Lawrence Beard of Newcastle, OK on February 8, 2009; and nephew Danny Brown of OKC. Her survivors in the Fort Worth Metro area are: daughter Paula Dagy and husband Terry; granddaughter Deanna Winn and husband Shane; daughter Vickie Roberson; granddaughter Joanna Bryant, and grandson John Paul Roberson and wife Misty. Also, great-grandchildren: Kaylee Bryant, Zackary Roberson, Ryan Winn, and Drista Roberson. In the Oklahoma City metro area: husband Eldon, daughter-in-law Shelley Beard, and grandchildren Grace, David, and Joy Beard, and great-grandson Ethan Singleton. Over Joan's adult years, she worshiped the Lord with His congregations of several denominations. She shared His love also through helping in a well-baby clinic in Fort Worth, and delivering meals to the elderly in Oklahoma City.
