Joann Agnes Kopp

JoAnn Agnes Kopp, of Edmond, passed away on Aug 24, 2017. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 29, 1951 to Carl and Virginia Pabst. JoAnn was a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma where she earned her Master's in Education. She was a National Board Certified Teacher and proudly worked for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Coronado Elementary, and Putnam North High School as a Library Media Specialist. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Pabst. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Pabst; sisters, Janet Todd and Jill Miller; brother, Carl Pabst; husband, Gregory, with whom she spent 44 amazing years of marriage; two sons, Jeffrey and Chris and wife Carrie of Norman. JoAnn was also blessed with two beautiful grandsons, Benjamin and Ryan, who made her eyes twinkle with joy. JoAnn's greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She was quick witted and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved her job and enjoyed helping young people with their assignments and challenges in life with a joy and passion few people have. The family would like to thank the many people who provided support, care, prayers and friendship to JoAnn throughout her illness. A special thank you to Mercy Hospice. Wake Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 1st at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home N. May Chapel. Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2nd at Epiphany of the Lord, 7336 W. Britton Road.
