Joe Balsano

Joseph Anthony Balsano, Jr. did things his way and will be remembered for his huge heart, the love he showed his huge family and the huge legacy he leaves that will live on. Joe was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Joseph Sr. and Anna (Rease) Balsano. He peacefully went to meet the Lord on Sunday, February 3rd surrounded by his loving family. Joe retired from Wilson Foods where he made many lasting friendships. He was also the Founder and President of JABCO Inc. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Suzi; daughter, Denise Wood and husband David with grandchildren, Joey and Jaclyn Wood of Tulsa, OK; son, Denny Balsano with grandchildren, Tanner and Baylee Balsano of Bethany, OK; brother, Ralph Balsano (Jean); sisters, Pat O'Neill (Mark), Jeanette Niemiec (Bob), Monica Kessler, Marlene Kalasky, Mary Gorup (Bernard), and Michaela Balsano; 15 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews as well as a host of other extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. The family will be available to greet friends during visitation at the Smith & Kernke N. May Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, February 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City where Joe and Suzie were members. Joe's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Anthony's Hospital, especially Dr. Riha, Dr. Toma, Dr. Dennis and Taylor Winzeler, PA who took exemplary care of him over 20 years.
