John David Blair was born on February 7, 1952, in Evansville, Indiana, and departed this life unexpectedly July 17, 2014, at the age of 62. David grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, and later moved to Nichols Hills, Oklahoma, where he has resided for the past 25 years. He began his 40-year career as a Petroleum Landman in 1974 and served as Land Manager of Comanche Resources Company for the past 20 years. David was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen and Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen. David married his beloved wife, Cathy, July 4, 1992, and was a caring father to her son, the late Jason Robb. David had many friends and lots of stories. Some of his favorite memories were of the time he spent in his youth working at Yellowstone National Park. He also loved hunting and fishing, and OU football. David was preceded in death by his brother, Lance CPLUSMC W.W. Blair, Jr.; his father, W.W. Blair; his stepson, Jason Robb; and his sister, Elizabeth Blair. David is survived by his wife, Cathy; his mother, Jean Blair; his brother, Robert G, Blair and his wife Angela; and three sisters. David is also survived by many nephews and nieces to whom he was a very devoted uncle. David's unique personality and huge heart will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Smith & Kernke May Chapel.
