John died unexpectedly in Oklahoma City. He was born in Perry, Iowa, the 11th of 12 children born to Francis and Anna Glenn. He entered the US Marine Corps in 1956 and served until 1959. He was retired from Firestone Tire and was working for SMG at Chesapeake Arena at the time of his death. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirlene Teresa Overton Glenn; three children, Nancy Ballard, Chris Glenn and wife Susan, and Theresa Shelley and husband John; 5 grandchildren, Stacy Sanford and husband Chris, Kacy Ballard, Amber Shelley, Christopher Shelley and Mia Glenn; several sisters, brother, nieces and nephews; and his beloved constant companion, his dog, Lilly Belle. He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters and an infant son, John Edwin Glenn. An evening prayer service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Smith & Kernke May Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at St. Monica Catholic Church, Edmond.
