John E. Sargent, Jr. "Jack", age 75, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. John was born May 27, 1943, in Bell, CA, to John Edward and Kathleen Gayle (Quirk) Sargent. Jack attended Marquette Grade School and Cascia Hall High School graduating in 1961. Jack went on to graduate from Villanova University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Economics in Villanova, Pennsylvania before joining the United States Navy in 1966 serving in the Vietnam War. Jack received his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1940. While working at MacAfee & Taft Law firm for the last 48 years, he received multiple honors including, being Recognized by Best Lawyers since 2005, Rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings, he was Selected by Peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (land use and zoning law; real estate law), Listed in the Chambers USA guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
He was a member of The Oklahoma County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association (Title Examination Standards Committee, Real Property Section), and Christ the King Catholic Church.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Suzie Sargent; son, John E. Edward, III and his wife Brooke; granddaughter, Stella Sargent; and his brother, William Q. Sargent.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 12 at 1:30pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City with final interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations in Jack's name may be made to Catholic Charities.
