John Irving Fisher

John Irving Fisher, born March 23, 1926, died and went to be with our Lord on April 24, 2014 at the age of 88. He was a native of Oklahoma City, graduating from Classen High School in 1944. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army in the European war from 1944-46. Following his service to his country, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1950 and began a long and distinguished career as a petroleum engineer, working many years with Kerr McGee, & later as an independent consultant in Midland Texas for 20 years, until his retirement in 1994. He married Fleur Lane in 1949 and they shared 63 years together until her death November 2012. He was an exemplary devoted and loving husband, taking care of Fleur for many years through her living with Alzheimer dementia. He faithfully served his Lord and the Episcopal Church as a Vestry member and Layreader. He had a positive influence upon many lives during his time with us and will be deeply missed by those whom had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fleur Lane Fisher, his father Irving Fisher, his mother Virginia Price Fisher, and his daughter, Jane Ann Fisher. He is survived by his son and his wife, Ross and Melody Fisher of Blanchard OK, his sisters, Kathryn Scott of Jamestown SC, Joan Snodgrass of Ardmore OK, and granddaughters, Mandy and Chelsea Keef of Yukon OK. The family would also like to recognize the wonderful devoted care from his caregivers, Robin Gregory and Anisa Miller for their loving care of him in his last days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
