John Irving Fisher, born March 23, 1926, died and went to be with our Lord on April 24,
2014 at the age of 88. He was a native of Oklahoma City, graduating from Classen High
School in 1944. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army in the
European war from 1944-46. Following his service to his country, he graduated from the
University of Oklahoma in 1950 and began a long and distinguished career as a
petroleum engineer, working many years with Kerr McGee, & later as an independent
consultant in Midland Texas for 20 years, until his retirement in 1994. He married Fleur
Lane in 1949 and they shared 63 years together until her death November 2012. He
was an exemplary devoted and loving husband, taking care of Fleur for many years
through her living with Alzheimer dementia. He faithfully served his Lord and the
Episcopal Church as a Vestry member and Layreader. He had a positive influence upon
many lives during his time with us and will be deeply missed by those whom had the
privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fleur Lane Fisher, his
father Irving Fisher, his mother Virginia Price Fisher, and his daughter, Jane Ann Fisher.
He is survived by his son and his wife, Ross and Melody Fisher of Blanchard OK, his
sisters, Kathryn Scott of Jamestown SC, Joan Snodgrass of Ardmore OK, and
granddaughters, Mandy and Chelsea Keef of Yukon OK. The family would also like to
recognize the wonderful devoted care from his caregivers, Robin Gregory and Anisa
Miller for their loving care of him in his last days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
