John James Suchak Jr., 71, of Warr Acres, died Tuesday 26 Nov. 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. He survived to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary the day of his passing. John was born on Sept. 23, 1942 to John Suchak and Helen Suchak (nee Gluvna), in East Chicago, IN. He graduated from Bishop Noll Institute, Hammond, IN, in 1960. He attended college at the University of Arizona before proudly serving in the USAF until 1970. He relocated to Oklahoma City and fondly considered it his home. John worked in manufacturing and sales until he retired in 2000. He was active in the community and in helping others in need. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Elks Lodge #417. He volunteered time with RSVP and strongly supported his wife's work with Infant Crisis Services. John was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. He loved spending time outdoors, shooting, fishing, gardening, riding his motorcycle, and walking his beloved dog, Dakota. John is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda, son Steven S. Suchak and daughter-in-law Thao Tu-Suchak, of Edmond, Ok. He is fondly remembered by his lifelong best friend, Ray Kammer, of Miller, IN. John was preceded in death by his father, John Sr. and his mother Helen. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Oklahoma City Infant Crisis Services or the American Cancer Society of Oklahoma County. Services will be held at2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10th at Smith and Kernke Chapel.
