John Patrick Samter

John Patrick "Pat" Samter September 6th, 1934 - March 14th, 2018 Pat Samter passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City on March 14th. He was born on September 6th, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School and The University of Oklahoma. Pat was a devoted member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity and treasured his many KA friendships. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy, his daughter, Suzanna Fletcher and husband Roy, and his grandchildren, Kate and John Robert, all of Oklahoma City; his sister Anna Jo Carr and husband Valdie, of Dallas, TX, and his nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Dave Samter, and infant children Mary and John. A special thank you to Valir Hospice and The Waterford Mansion for their wonderful care and support. Per his wishes, there will be a private family celebration of life. Ring not the bell nor mourn Rather remember this I have seen the sun sink in the sea, The wind dance of trees upon the hill, Heard the happy laugh of children play, And known the peace and quiet of being still. Felt the warm hand clasp of a friend, Read a book I'd love to read again. Heard the swell of music sweet and plain. And known the joy of working in the rain.
