John Whittaker Tack was born in Topeka, Kansas, on April 24, 1950. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era. John was an accomplished photographer, an avid golfer, and an art collector. He was an intelligent, generous, kind, good hearted, man. After retiring from the oil and gas industry, he took loving care of his mother Jackie until her death in July 2023. He rarely met a cat he did not love, and no stray went hungry on his watch. He will be truly missed by family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father and mother, James D. Tack, Sr. and Jacqueline A. Tack, and his grandniece Emma Hawkins, and survived by his brother Jim Jr. (Ginnie), two sisters, Sara Tack Eidy (Gene) and Jill Ponce (Tim), two nieces Madelaine Hawkins, Meredith O’Neil (Patrick), and grandniece and grandnephews Eleanor Grace and Whittaker Dean Hawkins, Arthur Tack and Llewyn Ross O’Neil, and many cousins and friends.
Contributions may be made in John's memory to Doctors Without Borders.Thursday, December 28, 2023
