Joseph Earl Mason, an immensely proud father and grandfather and a lifelong Oklahoma City resident, passed away suddenly on May 3, 2013. He was 68. Joe never missed an opportunity to find humor in any situation. His dry wit, sense of style and kind heart made him unique to the many people he called friends. He will be greatly missed. Joe attended Edgemere Elementary, Harding High School and the University of Oklahoma, where he pledged Delta Tau Delta and studied business. An avid Sooners football fan and retired owner of Mason Furniture, Joe was active in church throughout his life, teaching various Sunday school classes over the years. Most recently he enjoyed working out at the gym, following the stock market, and spending time with his wife, friends, children and grandchildren. For Joe, God and family came first. He is survived by his wife of more than 43 years, Robin; daughter April and husband Adam; daughter Lori and husband Creede; son Blake and fiancée Kristin and grandchildren Violet, Lucy, Creede Hudson and Charlotte. He is also survived by his sister Delma Jo Robinson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Earl Mason and Delma Mason. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to REED Academy, a non-profit school for autism that helped his granddaughter at www.reedacademy.org, or to his nephew's ministry with Cru City at https://give.cru.org/0111374.
