Joseph Edwin Deupree was born in Norman, OK March 28, 1927 to Edwin A. and Fay Davis Deupree. He passed away at home on February 15, 2020. Joe grew up in Oklahoma City where he was enrolled at Gatewood Elementary until his family moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he attended Paschal High School. Joe graduated with a business degree from the University of Texas. After graduation, he worked in Fort Worth for a short time until he moved back to Oklahoma City where he joined his father in the explosives distribution business, Deupree Distributing Company, where he stayed until his retirement.Joe enjoyed taking his young family on ski trips and was a past president of the Oklahoma City Ski Club. He was also an avid golfer and had a true passion for the game. Professional affiliations include membership in the Oklahoma Geophysical Society. Of great importance was being a friend of Bill W.'s for 47 years, and he was a founding member of the Western Club.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister in law, Charles and Donna Deupree and sister, Dixie Bartell. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy H. Deupree; daughters Lisa Deupree Oldham; Sherri Deupree Ritchie and husband Karl; Karin Deupree Parks and husband Gary; former son in law Ralph Oldham and brother in law James Denny Bartell. He also leaves several grandchildren, nieces and nephews who were dearly loved.A celebration of Joe's life will be at Westminster Presbyterian Chapel, 4400 N Shartel Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 3:00 PM.
