Josephine passed away in Oklahoma City at 100 years and 8 months. She was born in Oklahoma City to Lebanese immigrants Ameen and Filamena Samara. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School. Josephine worked for many years at Montgomery Wards. She met C.R. "Joe" Stacy as he was stationed at Tinker AFB, they were married in 1942, before he served a tour overseas. Josephine was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She later went to work at OSU Technical School in admissions and volunteered many years at the voting polls. She was an exceptional cook; infamous for her Baklava and Mamool, traditional Lebanese pastries. She also enjoyed shopping; she was a true bargain hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 4 brothers, Jake, Leo, Carroll and John Samara, and 3 sisters, Minnie Rash, Sadie Stewart, and Maggie McDonald. She is survived by brother, Michael Samara of Tulsa; sister, Mary Sills of OKC; daughter, Marcia Stacy; son, John Stacy (Teresa); 4 grandsons, Blake Stacy (Jill), Brayden Stacy, Jake Stacy and Blake Kirby; granddaughter, Alyssa Swafford (David); 2 great grandchildren, Weston Swafford and Harper Stacy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. Elijah Antioch Orthodox Christian Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Flowers That Do Not Wither Fund, 15000 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
