On Sunday, June 26, 2022, our beautiful ray of sunshine was called home to be with the Lord. Julie Lynne Balkenbush Peck was born July 17, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jim & Betty Balkenbush. She was the fourth of five siblings. Julie was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City. Julie attended Christ the King School and Church, Northeast High School, where she was a cheerleader, and Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. While at OSU, she met the love of her life, Randy Peck, on a blind date in what would become the start of their 39-year grand adventure. Julie had a magnetic personality, an infectious smile, and a twinkle in her big brown eyes that was both endearing and a bit mischievous. She is remembered for her adventurous spirit and zest for life. She never knew a stranger and left an unforgettable impression with all who met her. Julie's love for travel led to a two decade career as a travel professional. She loved to travel the world, but loved nothing more than spending time at home surrounded by family and dear friends. Julie was a selfless person who was passionate about volunteering for numerous causes including Prevent Blindness Oklahoma.Julie and Randy were blessed with their daughter, Emily Lynne (Emma) Peck – their millennium baby. Julie devoted herself to Emma, who was the joy of her life. Julie and her family are members of Life Church. Julie was a fully devoted follower of Christ and took comfort in knowing her eternal home would be with Jesus in Glory.Julie is survived by her husband, Randy and daughter, Emma. She is also survived by her parents, Jim and Betty Balkenbush; her sister, Janet and husband Ray Prescott; sister Janie and husband Kerry Billington; brother, Jim Balkenbush, Jr.; and brother, Paul and wife Janice Balkenbush; along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Keo Balkenbush; and Eugene and Esther Cirou.God truly blessed us with Julie. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Visitation for Julie will be held at Smith & Kernke North May, Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 12pm- 6pm with family present from 4pm-6pm. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 1, 2022, at 10am at Smith & Kernke North May Chapel.
